Phillips Industries has released its Rear-Vu backup-camera, allowing any driver to connect it to any trailer.

The universal compatibility comes with a WiFi connection that extends more than 70 feet, and integrates with any ELD navigation system.

The camera itself offers a 170-degree viewing angle, clear visibility of the bumpers and doors, and more than 50 feet of visibility behind the trailer. It can also be used continuously while driving to serve as a rearview mirror, the company says, allowing drivers to monitor traffic behind them.

The Rear-Vu camera comes with a free mobile app for iOS and Android devices. Drivers download the app, select the trailer they’re pulling and begin viewing.

The camera doubles as a dual function market light and is mounted using two bolts or rivets. “Phillips Industries has always been committed to keeping our roads safe,” said Rob Phillips, CEO of Phillips Industries.

“With the introduction of the Rear-Vu backup camera, we are not just offering a product but a new vision for industry safety and efficiency. The positive response that we have received so far confirms that we are meeting a critical need which we are very proud of.”
