Reliable broadband communication requires secure high data rate and bandwidth links. With the observedincrease in broadband users, known communication systems such as RF and microwave links cannot promise suchrequirements due to link interference and low bandwidth. A current communication system that promises suchrequirements and more is Free Space Optical (FSO) communication. This system basically involves the transmissionof signal-modulated optical radiation from a transmitter to a receiver through the atmosphere or outer space. However,location-variant atmospheric channel degrades the performance of an FSO system under severe atmosphericconditions, thus necessitating local atmospheric attenuation studies.This paper presents the characterization of both fog- and rain-induced attenuation and the performance ofan FSO system in a terrestrial terrain at Akure, Nigeria. One-year archived visibility data and in-situ measured 1-minute integration time rain rate data obtained from Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) and the Departmentof Physics, Federal University of Technology, Akure were used to compute the fog- and rain-induced specificattenuations using Kruse model and Carboneur model respectively. The performance of the FSO system is analyzedthrough link margin by using the parameters of a commercial optical transceiver, Terescope 5000.

Fuzzy-Ant Colony Based Routing on Road Networks

Route selection is essential in everyday life. We have several algorithms for detecting efficient route on Large Road Networks. This paper introduces the hierarchical community, is presented. It splits large road networks into hierarchical structure. It introduces a multi parameter route selection system which employs Fuzzy Logic (FL) and ant's behavior in nature is applied to the dynamic routing. The important rates of parameters such as path length and traffic are adjustable by the user. The purposes of the new hierarchical routing algorithm significantly reduce the search space. We develop a community-based hierarchical graph model that supports Dynamic, efficient route computation on large road networks.

In this research, the design and simulation of an automatic system for temperature control using embeddedsystem in order to automatically control of multi appliances depend on the temperature value. The appliances will becontrolled are ventilation, cooling, heating and alert. This is an order to avoid or reduce to human intervention andincrease system reliability. An important feature of this automation process is to reduce or eliminate the possibility ofrelying on the human factor operator for industries, warehouses and laboratories, and to improve working andperformance environments. The system in this paper used the microcontroller PIC16F887 as the central control unit,LM35 temperature sensor as a temperature source,16x2 liquid crystal display (LCD) as indicator to display thedifferent system working status an addition to some of drivers, relay and light emitting diodes (LED) as indicators todisplay the corresponding working appliance driver. The implementation and simulation of the system work has beenachieved by using Proteus professional software v8.0 and mikroc pro for pic v.6.6.1 software to write the equivalentprogram and generate. Hex file for system working.
